Lives the Owens Corning Safety Stand and meets all safety requirements. Utilizes all LTT principles as required. Safety is a condition of employment
Participates in the safety, autonomous maintenance, TPM and housekeeping programs as established within the plant
including but not limited to Focused Improvement Events, Safety Committee, etc
Performs job tasks to reduce environmental impact and adheres to the environmental regulations and recycling procedures for waste disposal
Complies with all plant rules and safety regulations
Communicates safety concerns and/or equipment problems/abnormalities to appropriate personnel
Notify your Front Line Leader immediately of all injuries, near misses, or first aid
Understands all regulations for safety harness protection
Understands lock-out/tag-out procedures for energy sources. Can identify energy sources for each machine and correctly de-energize the machine for maintenance procedures
Work alone or assist maintenance personnel of higher classification in the disassembly of various types of plant machinery. Work may require the making of replacement parts, reassemblies, fitting, aligning, and adjustments to any plant equipment
Have the ability to inspect equipment for defective parts for wear, or any unsatisfactory conditions. Have verbal or written skills to report equipment conditions to a supervisor in an effort to advance the preventative maintenance program
Can identify and support motor replacements, installs, and repairs, speed reducers, bearings, slip rings, brushes, sprockets, gears, rolls, and conduit, and be able to splice wires either alone or assist maintenance personnel of higher classification
Can identify and learn to use electrical and mechanical testing equipment
Makes mechanical repairs either separately or in conjunction with electrical installations or repairs under supervision
Submits reports as directed
Operates plant mobile and hoisting equipment as directed
Understands safe/proper set up for cutting and welding machines. Can perform routine acetylene cutting and welding without supervision
Understands the basics of bearing lubrication and installation. Can install interference fit and clearance fit bearings within tolerance without supervision
Establishes goals, prioritizes, and organizes actions, timelines, and resources
Understands the needs of the customer and takes action to address those needs
Identifies and participates proactively in learning opportunities and develops expertise in those areas
Ensures standard operating procedures and processes are in place
Performs other related duties consistent with the nature of this position, as directed by the area leader
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Two or more year of manufacturing experience strongly preferred
Must be 18 years or older
Must be a US citizen or have the right to work in the US
Must remain drug and alcohol free
Must read, write and speak English
Must understand verbal and written instructions
Must possess strong communication and organizational skills
Must be able to follow proper radio etiquette
Must work well in a team environment
Must have the ability to multi-task
Must have the ability to do basic mathematical calculations
Must have a minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience
Must be willing and able to train others on advanced craft or controls related skills
Must learn new controls technologies and systems as required throughout plant
Must pass the written and practical test in electrical, mechanical, machine shop, and welding
