Job Description:

The Maintenance Technician I position at Courtyard by Marriott involves attending to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing equipment and building systems, maintaining supplies, and ensuring adherence to safety policies. The role emphasizes professionalism, collaboration, and the ability to address guest needs while maintaining high-quality standards.

Job Responsibility:

Respond to guest repair requests
communicate with guests/customers about maintenance issues
perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment
inspect and maintain tools and machinery
troubleshoot and repair guestroom items and building systems
perform painting, drywall and trim repair, and cleanup
maintain maintenance inventory
report maintenance issues or safety hazards
follow safety and security policies
assist with landscaping and sprinkler maintenance
make temperature adjustments using computer systems
adhere to quality standards
ensure uniform and personal appearance are professional
assist guests and individuals with disabilities
collaborate with team members to achieve goals.

Requirements:

Respond and attend to guest repair requests
communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues
perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment
visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
identify, locate, and operate shut-off valves for equipment and utility shut-offs
maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies
communicate day’s activities and problems to other shifts
display basic knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building
perform painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement
perform cleanup of painting or repair areas
test, troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on equipment and plumbing
replace electrical switches and outlets
program TVs and input air handler schedules
perform repairs on landscaping and sprinklers
display basic computer skills including making temperature changes
use the Lockout/Tagout system
adhere to safety and security policies and procedures
report maintenance problems, hazards, or injuries to appropriate personnel
complete safety training
possess driver’s license.

Nice to have:

Some experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation and painting
experience in hotel engineering or maintenance.
