With the belief that they were there when we needed them, so we must be there now that they need us, Veterans Inc., the largest provider of supportive services to Veterans and their families in New England is seeking to fill the Maintenance Technician position and become a valued member of the Veterans Inc. team! Veterans Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician who will be a key member of the Veterans Inc. Maintenance team. This position supports all maintenance tasks and maintains the facilities, buildings, furnishings, and properties for all programs throughout New England. The schedule for this position is 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday.
Job Responsibility
Perform scheduled shelter improvements as identified by the Supervisor and arrange for ongoing facility maintenance & repairs as requested
Work with the Supervisor to develop plans to address the facility needs of Veterans Inc. Programs
Must be able to drive all company vehicles and travel from site to site to repair and work on maintenance needs
Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the basement and workshop
Maintaining proper inventory levels of emergency supplies, tarps, ice melt, tools, and disaster materials
Must be available for emergency on-call duties when needed and approved by supervisors, including some weekends
Completes facility renovations and interior projects
Assists in the preparation of plans and follows established schedules for facility interior projects
Monitors progress on maintenance projects and provides a report to the Supervisor
Provides recommendations on facility problems and cyclical replacement items
Performs manual labor and semi-skilled work in the organization's facilities and grounds, which include but are not limited to: construction and repair of electrical, mechanical, masonry, and carpentry
and the coordination and preventive maintenance of the building facilities
Requirements
Trade school or high school diploma graduate
2-5 years of general building repair and maintenance experience
Must have a valid driver's license
Must be available to work some weekend days
Must be able to pass a CORI Background records check
Compliance with Veterans Inc. COVID-19 Vaccination Policy
Must possess or be able to pass a DOT physical within 90 days of hire
Nice to have
Certificate in a trade program is preferred
