Maintenance Technicians support day-to-day operations of all machines, equipment, and areas of the facility. They also perform preventive maintenance, provide technical assistance for solving reliability issues, assist with production equipment upgrades and rebuilds, and fabricate, modify, assemble and repair a variety of production components/assemblies/systems utilizing various machining and metal fabricating equipment and tools.
Job Responsibility:
Ensures strict conformance to all applicable electrical codes & OSHA safety requirements for facility and production equipment, as well as Scholle IPN safety guidelines
Provides mechanical and electrical skills in support of routine & preventive maintenance
Supports the shift maintenance team in problem solving & troubleshooting efforts
Acts as a problem solving & continuous improvement resource for PLC programming, variable speed drives, electrical & pneumatic controls, mechanical systems, etc.
Troubleshoots & repairs production machine equipment and systems
Provides input to preventive & predictive maintenance efforts to improve overall equipment reliability
Effectively make electrical connection for most electrical devices
Capable of interpreting electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, & mechanical schematics for troubleshooting
Effectively troubleshoot all industrial systems, such as electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, & mechanical
Provides support of departmental standards for sanitation & housekeeping
Supports the introduction of new technology
Displays strong teamwork & communication skills with a hands-on, positive style
Models safe behaviors at all times
Contributes ideas & support to capital planning, lean manufacturing, & continuous improvement initiatives
Responsible for reporting food/product safety problems or risks to a supervisor or manager immediately, or take action if possible
Proper identification of the different parts and types of injection molding machines and how they work
Proper identification of the parts of an injection mold and how they work
Identify how different conditions affect the molding process
Requirements:
High school diploma or G.E.D required
Associate’s Degree in Industrial or Electrical Maintenance Technology preferred or 5 - 7 years’ experience will be considered with Vocational Training Program or Military equivalent
Ability and desire to solve mechanical/electrical issues
Solid mechanical, electrical, and technical aptitude is required
Understanding of electric motors, conveyors, gears, pneumatics, and hydraulics
Hands-on metal fabrication experience
Ability to use and operate basic maintenance and repair tools and machining equipment
Ability to accurately use precision measurement instruments
Knowledge and ability to understand basic drawings, equipment manuals, parts lists, and equipment instructions
Capable of reading and making basic drawings and blueprints
Ability to work safely and follow regulatory and Company Policies and Guidelines
Positive attitude, cooperative nature, and strong team player
Ability to work carefully in a precision tooling and precision product environment
Have the desire and ability to generate innovative ideas, provide recommendations, and be flexible
Must be able to move and/or lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
