Part-Time Maintenance Technician position in the Operations department, reporting to the Director of Operations. The role involves performing repairs, preventative maintenance, and responding to service calls for building mechanical systems.
Job Responsibility:
Perform repairs and maintenance tasks such as painting, patching, re-lamping, replacing ceiling tiles, door hardware repair, and correcting simple plumbing problems, as required
Assist other Maintenance Mechanics in performing routine preventative maintenance on electrical equipment, motors, controllers, and electro/mechanical devices
Respond to building service calls
assist Maintenance Technicians in troubleshooting problems within facility and taking corrective action
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on domestic water systems and related mechanical systems
Perform minor structural and mechanical tasks, electrical maintenance, and other duties
Prepares a variety of surfaces (e.g. cleaning, sanding, patching, masking, nail holes, cracks, joints, etc.) to insure they are ready for painting and/or refinishing
Operates, cleans and maintains all painting equipment, including brush, roll, sprayers and electrostatic sprayers, pumps, etc.
Interpret, explain and apply building codes, rules and regulations involved in assigned maintenance activities
Follow the preventive maintenance program, energy management program and standard operating procedures for all machinery and equipment
Perform proper methods of labeling, storing equipment, materials, and supplies in a safe manner
Record and log all work performed, complete work order slips and compile all required reports in a timely and complete manner
Promote a safe working environment for all employees by following the life safety and emergency program as needed
Operate equipment, such as, light trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, access lifts, or other light power driven equipment
May occasionally have to enter areas where fumes, airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals are present. Work at heights using correct safety equipment
Develop and submit lists of necessary repairs and improvements
May perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required, or 2 years of comparable experience plus required related experience may be considered in lieu of diploma
Technical training in HVAC preferred
Apprentice Electricians License preferred
EPA Universal Certification preferred
Two (2) years' experiences operating and maintaining building mechanical systems to include HVAC, plumbing, electrical and fire and life safety related experience
Be licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the United States
Possess any licenses, certificates or training required by local, state, or national authorities for the operation of the equipment found in the facility
Good written, verbal and computer skills
Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur
Work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication required
Must provide exceptional customer service
Must be able to effectively work with others
Must be able to lift 75lbs
Must be able to stand and work on your feet for 8-10 hours a day
