We are currently seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician for a 1-year contract opportunity in Concord, ON. This role is vital to ensuring the reliability of high-tech manufacturing equipment and requires a blend of mechanical intuition and electrical expertise. As a Maintenance Technician in the manufacturing sector, you will be the backbone of the production floor. You aren't just fixing machines; you are ensuring that innovation never stops. In this position, you will execute a wide array of technical tasks. From the initial setup of complex systems to performing intricate corrective and predictive maintenance, your expertise will minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability. You will work specifically with advanced assets such as plasma systems, ultrasonic welders, laser etchers, and automated dispensing machines.
Job Responsibility:
Execute comprehensive preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance for all manufacturing & logistics equipment
Perform precise setups and calibrations on ovens, plasma systems, and ultrasonic welders
Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
Support the installation, commissioning, and eventual decommissioning of industrial machinery
Troubleshoot PLC-based controls and automation components to ensure seamless production flow
Read and interpret complex electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and P&IDs
Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with procurement to identify critical spares for manufacturing & logistics operations
Document all technical activities in strict compliance with quality and safety procedures
Partner with Engineering and Quality teams to drive continuous improvement through Lean and TPM initiatives
Requirements:
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related technical field
5+ years of proven maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment
Previous experience maintaining Siemens or similar high-end industrial equipment
Validated expertise in troubleshooting automated systems and PLCs
Flexibility to support day shifts and occasional on-call requirements
Commitment to safety protocols and the 5S methodology within manufacturing & logistics
