Under some direct supervision the Maintenance Technician II is an intermediate level position and is responsible for conducting machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance service with average efficiency. Performs duties under the direction of the Maintenance Manager and Leads.
Job Responsibility
Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines
Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical and electrical devices in operation
Removes defective parts by dismantling devices
Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools
Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques
Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment
Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories
Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed
Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests
Prepares mechanical maintenance reports
Maintains technical knowledge
Maintains continuity among work teams
Maintains safe and clean working environment
Contributes to team effort
Performs building, lighting, and plumping repairs for Facility as needed
Requirements
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Certificate from a vocational school in maintenance technology preferred
2 - 5 years of related experience
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Valid driver’s license
Nice to have
