We are seeking a production-driven Maintenance Supervisor to lead a skilled trades team within a high-intensity, heavy manufacturing environment. This role is designed for a leader who balances technical expertise with a proactive management style, ensuring equipment reliability while fostering the growth of the next generation of tradespeople. The ideal candidate thrives in a 60/40 split between the production floor and the office, moving seamlessly from troubleshooting complex hydraulic systems to developing long-term corrective action plans
Job Responsibility:
Lead, supervise, and assign daily tasks to maintenance crews
Build strong relationships with area production supervisors to align maintenance activities with output goals
Manage the tenure and development of younger apprentices
Manage attendance tracking and performance
Implementation and continuous monitoring of a comprehensive Preventative Maintenance (PM) program
Actively participate in troubleshooting, breakdowns, and assessments alongside the team
Review Maintenance Request Forms (MRFs), develop corrective action plans, and advise on modifications to existing safety and maintenance protocols
Interface with equipment suppliers and vendors for parts specification and to expedite emergency repairs
Partner with the Joint Health and Safety Committee to ensure all equipment remains in safe operating condition
Supervise third-party sub-contractors and project work on-site
Requirements:
433a millwright license or equivalent experience
Proven experience in heavy manufacturing
Specific familiarity with large-scale equipment (e.g., heavy hydraulic presses)
Minimum of 3 years in direct supervision of maintenance trades
At least 5 years in heavy manufacturing/facilities maintenance
Ability to review complex plans, identify equipment challenges, and execute corrective action strategies
Must be a "people person" who can get along with the team while maintaining the authority to lead and hold staff accountable
Strong command of English (written/verbal)
Proficiency in MS Office for reporting and tracking
