The Team Leader is responsible for managing the day-to-day workload of a maintenance team to ensure safe, effective, and efficient service is delivered while ensuring that Mill and departmental targets are achieved. This includes but not limited to the following responsibilities: the planning and resourcing of Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and maintenance shutdown, support a culture of continuous improvement throughout the team of skilled team members, be the key resource in providing leadership, coordination, and execution of planned and unplanned tasks all while keeping the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and quality standards as a primary focus.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure all safety preventive activities and S.O.P.’s are consistently followed
Ensure and actively engage in daily safety requirements and team meetings
Appropriately plan and ensure that all assigned employees know and understand the areas daily manufacturing and maintenance strategies
Facilitate and/or schedule training to ensure that employees are knowledgeable of the required tasks and all appropriate Standard Operating Procedures
Ensure that all maintenance work (planned and unplanned) is performed on schedule and within budgetary limits
Perform effective diagnosis of breakdowns and timely repair to maximize availability of equipment and processes
Manage maintenance overtime to meet or beat approved budget guidelines
Understand and maintain high standards of tidiness and organization (5S)
Learn and utilize Domtar’s Front-Line Problem-Solving process
Coach, counsel, and manage performance of direct reports
Manage maintenance projects as assigned to support the needs of the business
Develop maintenance team members by providing challenging assignments, training, coaching, and mentoring opportunities
Recognize and reward team members for working cohesively to meet and exceed the business goals and targets
Requirements:
A minimum of two (2) years of maintenance experience in an industrial setting or environment
A minimum of two (2) years of maintenance supervisory experience in a large heavy manufacturing environment is required
Ability to work with all levels of the organization, including the management committee and senior leaders
Nice to have:
A four (4) years undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university in a Technical or Engineering major preferred
