Job Description

Marriott Cancun An All-Inclusive Resort is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to coordinate small projects of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing physical structures of buildings and grounds. The role ensures appropriate service manuals, technical manuals and blueprints are available, utilized during preventive maintenance, repair, and/or replacement procedures. Overall responsibility for supervising a shift or department operation, providing guidance and direction to subordinates. The scope of the supervisor’s duties may be contingent upon the department’s size. Follow all company and safety and security policies, maintain professional appearance, protect company assets, welcome guests according to company standards, and perform other duties as requested. Preferred qualifications: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, 5 years related work experience, supervisory experience. Required: First Class Stationary Engineer’s Operating License or equivalent.

Job Responsibility

  • Coordinate small projects of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing physical structures of buildings and grounds
  • Ensure appropriate service manuals, technical manuals and blueprints are available, current and utilized during preventive maintenance, repair, and/or replacement procedures
  • Supervise a shift or department operation
  • Provide guidance and direction to subordinates
  • Provide information to managers, peers, subordinates and other departments
  • Function as a technical department resource and provides training to incumbents and new hires
  • Follow company and safety and security policies and procedures
  • Report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries

Requirements

  • License or Certification: First Class Stationary Engineer’s Operating License or equivalent.

Knowledge of computerized PLC/SCADA systems, DCS control systems, computerized operating data acquisition and historical trending systems pre. Knowledge of normal and abnormal process and equipment conditions and capable of taking appropriate, safe actions. Ability to maintain and repair equipment, have an excellent mechanical aptitude. Ability to operated complex controls, processes, and equipment. Knowledge of the operation, repairs and maintenance of power plant diesel electric generating equipment and related equipment. Knowledge of wastewater treatment plant processes, equipment, and systems preferred. Knowledge of facility HVAC systems and equipment. Knowledge of proper Environmental, Health and Safety policies, procedures, and requirements. Must be capable of being assigned in responsible charge of the facility with the ability to react to unplanned events. Must have the ability to maintain effective working relations with management, supervisors, and staff. Must have the ability to make decisions independently. Proven ability to successfully manage time and prioritize work. Must be able to communicate well with individuals at all skill, knowledge, and experience levels. Must be able to lead by example, train, and mentor all staff and team support personnel. Must have the ability to lead department/team effectively in all situations under any conditions. Must be able to work closely with local contractors and vendors. Must be able to work as a team in a teamwork-oriented environment. Valid NYS Driver’s license and the ability to meet risk management guidelines. Commercial Driver’s License is desirable. Possess a valid NY State Grade 2A or higher Wastewater Treatment License.
