The Maintenance Supervisor ensures that all equipment, machinery, and facilities are operating at peak efficiency. They proactively manage preventative maintenance schedule, coordinate tasks, manage front line staff and ensure compliance with OSHA safety and operational standards. 80% hands on tools / 20% administration.
Job Responsibility:
Perform the functions of maintenance including: Facility support – upkeep, repair and planning for all major facility mechanicals
Equipment support – planning, coordinating, and completion of a preventative maintenance program for all equipment used in the manufacturing process
Strong understanding of electrical wiring/engineering of machinery
Arrange for and manage appropriate third-party contractors as needed while controlling outside cost
Working closely with the manufacturing team to ensure optimal performance of equipment and processes
Maintain a clean and organized maintenance area, stocked with the primary consumables and set up for quick and easy access to all primary users
Perform routine housekeeping activities and ensure adherence to established safety procedures and requirements
Train employees in the proper operation and care of equipment and tooling
Responsible for maintenance and janitorial team members, establishing expectations and upholding accountability for positive results
Assist in ensuring that the organization is in compliance with Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) regulations
Continually improve maintenance and equipment support
Maintain records of all activities and processes pertaining to maintenance
Prioritize and direct maintenance requests
Plan and schedule required work to meet peak and non-peak demands
Effectively communicates with all departments including Manufacturing and Shipping
Ability to establish and meet expectations
Prioritize and carry out tasks as assigned by management
Requirements:
Associate’s degree in the areas of Maintenance, Engineering or related field
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a print manufacturing environment
Previous lead or supervisory experience is preferred
Certification in OSHA/Safety programs and practices is desired
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to complete time report and production reports
Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations
Ability to count, number sequencing, add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Excel, Word and Outlook
Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems and CMMS systems
Champion in lockout/tagout
Prior experience with machine repair, electrical and mechanical systems
Must be able to trouble shoot issues, determine root cause, and define corrective action
Have the ability to use hand tools, power tools, measuring devices and testing devices commonly used in equipment and facility repairs
Must have the ability to read, analyze and interpret manuals, blueprints and schematics
Ability to work independently and take initiative to accomplish tasks
Must have a valid driver’s license
Ability to drive forklift, scissors lift, order picker, and equipment related to snow removal and landscaping
