We are seeking a high-caliber Maintenance Supervisor to spearhead the technical operations at our high-volume distribution and storage facility. As a key leader within our growing organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability of our mechanical, electrical, and automated systems. This is a hands-on leadership role that balances technical troubleshooting with strategic team development and preventive maintenance optimization.
Job Responsibility:
Supervise, mentor, and schedule a dedicated team of technicians, ensuring high performance and continuous skill development
Manage daily work orders, shift transitions, and administrative duties, including labor tracking and payroll approvals
Act as the primary technical resource for complex system failures, providing expert guidance to the team when needed
Oversee and refine PM (Preventive Maintenance) programs to maximize equipment uptime and lifecycle
Utilize advanced diagnostic tools—including vibration analysis, thermography, and oil testing—to anticipate and mitigate equipment failure
Manage facility-wide systems (pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical) and coordinate specialized third-party vendors for major repairs or upgrades
Maintain a robust spare-parts strategy to ensure critical components are always available
Ensure all operations strictly follow provincial health and safety regulations, including LOTO (Lock-out/Tag-out) and PPE protocols
Lead safety briefings, perform site audits, and ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards (HACCP/SQF)
Track and report on key performance metrics such as MTTR, MTBF, and PM compliance using CMMS software
Contribute to capital improvement projects, root cause analysis (RCA), and facility-wide efficiency initiatives
Requirements:
5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or team-lead capacity
A valid Trade Certification or Technical Diploma (Red Seal 433A Millwright or Electrical preferred)
Deep proficiency in troubleshooting automated systems, specifically Siemens PL7 PLCs, VFD drives, encoders, and industrial print-and-apply labeling systems
Strong ability to interpret complex technical schematics and blueprints
Experienced with CMMS platforms and the Microsoft Office suite
Excellent verbal and written skills for reporting to senior management and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams
Must have either a 433a or a 442a
