Maintenance Specialist Job at Bird Canada (San Francisco)

Job Description

This hands-on role supports Bird’s vehicle operations within one of our central and/or service facilities.

Repair: Mechanical - troubleshooting and diagnosing vehicle issues and repairing vehicles to meet functional specifications (brakes, front forks, handlebar components, etc.)
Repair: Electrical - troubleshooting and diagnosing vehicle issues and repairing vehicles to meet functional specifications (vehicle 'Brain', battery, LCD screen, wiring, etc.)
Charging - meeting the vehicle charging schedule, moving vehicle pallets, plugging-in/unplugging vehicles, indicating vehicle charge date
Hardware modification and troubleshooting - working with cross-functional teams to develop processes and modify vehicles
Quality control - validating functionality of new or repaired vehicles
Shipping/receiving - input and output for materials, communicate with delivery drivers, track orders, load and unload trucks
Inventory Management - tracking production equipment and materials (spare parts, assembly components, tools, safety equipment, computers, etc.)
Ensure adherence of process SOPs and maintain 5S standards
Work in a safe manner, following departmental Safety Rules
Escalate questions regarding tools and processes to Supervisors

Ability to be very active: bend, stoop, and lift up to 80 pounds up to 3 feet off the ground on a frequent basis

Keep work station clean and organized
Willing to perform heavy or repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods of time
Ability to stand for 8 hours/day
