The Maintenance Planner is the principal leader responsible for accurately planning work order requirements for routine, unplanned outage and turnaround work for all craft disciplines at the Blue Point facility. Responsibilities include scheduling critical work-order job functions for safe and efficient job execution; coordinating and supervising individual work-order execution; acting as a first line supervisor managing major project work comprised of numerous work-orders that encompass unplanned outages and turnarounds.
Job Responsibility:
Plan work-order requirements to ensure all maintenance work is successfully executed in a safe and productive manner while maintaining high craft quality expectations
Evaluate equipment for inclusion in the Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) Systems and develop requirements for the same
Manage the preventative maintenance system to ensure equipment availability and regulatory compliance is maintained for equipment defined in the system
Evaluate equipment spare parts requirements based on manufacturer’s recommendations or personal experience for their inventory availability or prompt availability via vendor warehouses
Develop and maintain a network of contacts that can provide the goods and services necessary for successful work execution
Ensure critical work-order work steps are properly linked so efficient scheduling of execution resources can be allocated
Create schedules to capture all work-orders within a given event
Assist with event schedule development and maintain work-order job step progress to ensure accurate schedule updating
Develop and maintain an amicable working relationship with the facility’s various departmental personnel
Actively manage routine, PM, unplanned impromptu outage and turnaround backlog work schedules
Coordinate and supervise safe work execution of all routine, break-in and unplanned outage maintenance work
Coordinate and supervise safe work execution encompassing large project events
Ensure contract service organizations coordinate with CFI’s Safety and Security departments to ensure that vendors adhere to CFI’s policies and procedures
Assist with developing annual maintenance budgets and ensure execution adherence of the same
Evaluate executed work against planned work for requirement deficiencies and address those deficiencies when planning future work
Provide relief for area Planners and Superintendent when requested
Uphold CFI’s High Environmental, Health and Safety expectations while maintaining High Craft Quality Performance and Productivity
Understand and comply with established departmental processes and procedures designed to support internal control efforts
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an accredited university with two years of industry experience
or a construction management degree with two years of industry experience
or ten years of verifiable planning experience demonstrated in the chemical industry
or a minimum of ten years operations experience and strong mechanical/instrumentation/electrical abilities
