Job Responsibility:
Under minimal direction, safely performs and guides: the coordination and repair, replacement, installation, inspection, enhancement, optimization, testing and troubleshooting of all pack floor facilities, including high-speed packaging equipment such as cartoners, case packers, etc.
Performs Preventative Maintenance Routines including accurate, complete, and timely follow-up documentation
Effectively troubleshoot equipment for repairs/replacement including accurate, complete and timely follow-up documentation
Effectively uses hand/power tools and shop equipment to machine, manufacture or modify and/or repair parts from drawings and/or sample
Effectively work with Managers, operators, contractors, service people, vendors/suppliers, and clients to ensure timely and accurate completion of services
Defines, selects, and requests parts and materials for project work/equipment repair while following approved procedures
Effectively communicates with others by participating in shift handovers, responding to questions, and seeking feedback/input
Perform all tasks and responsibilities in a fashion that assures personal safety and the safety of others and equipment
Report any non-conformance to safety standards
Move and operate various equipment including but not limited to forklift, highlift, etc.
Effectively works and participates in a team environment
Inspect used parts to determine dimensional changes using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments and diagnose to prevent future problems
Actively participates and/or leads in project initiatives and selected cross-functional teams as approved
Required to stay up to date on emerging technologies and techniques relating to area(s) of expertise
Schedules and plans daily activities and project initiatives
Performs/follows quality related practices (i.e. SPC, TQM, GMP etc.)
Required to train others, participate in training design and initiate efforts to develop or modify training programs
Maintains and cleans: Work area, job site, tools and equipment
Share job related knowledge and information with management and peers
Completes other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
Minimum 2+ years' experience in a similar role
Effective troubleshooting skills is a must
Mechanical experience and knowledge with high-speed packaging equipment, hydraulics including DCV valves, pneumatics including different types of actuating cylinders, gearboxes, drive systems, transport conveyors and associated subcomponents, and performing line mechanical changeovers
Must be able to display manual dexterity and perform all physical demands as outlined in the job description
Understand and follows all GMP/Plant Hygiene guidelines
Able to work with little or no direction on a team/in a group
Employment is subject to verification of pre-screening tests, which may include drug screening, preemployment physical and background check
Nice to have:
Working knowledge of PLC, Frequency Drives, Process Controls is a plus
