Job Responsibility
Property & DIY Maintenance: Carry out general maintenance and DIY tasks across all Amegreen sites—including our Head Office, Residential Homes, Schools, and equine therapy facility
Essential Repairs: Perform essential internal and external repairs such as painting and decorating, basic carpentry (including changing or fixing locks), joinery, adjusting fixtures, and assembling or relocating furniture
Plumbing & Waste Management: Clear and unblock sinks, toilets, and drains
clean kitchen grease traps
and ensure all waste materials are disposed of safely and responsibly
Grounds & Animal Enclosures: Help maintain outdoor areas, ensuring lawns are mowed, hedges/trees are trimmed, and fences are built or repaired. You'll also assist in maintaining animal enclosures at our equine therapy centre so they remain safe and welcoming
Equipment Care: Look after all company tools and equipment, ensuring they stay clean, safe, and in good working condition
Health & Safety: Conduct routine health and safety checks, preventative maintenance, and ad-hoc repairs while ensuring strict compliance with all Health and Safety policies at all times
Driving Duties: Undertake occasional driving duties across our various sites as needed to support the service
Requirements
An experienced maintenance professional or skilled handy person with a broad knowledge of DIY, basic plumbing, and carpentry
Able to work independently, take initiative, and manage your daily tasks using a structured booking system
Calm under pressure, organised, and capable of prioritising workloads when urgent repairs arise
Holder of a full, clean UK driver's license (essential for travel between our sites)
Kind, empathetic, and entirely comfortable working within a children's residential care and school setting
Familiar with COSHH regulations and safe maintenance practices
Willing to be a true team player and attend urgent call-outs outside of normal hours on rare occasions
