Maintenance Operative

• Perform a variety of maintenance tasks including painting, decorating, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, gardening, waste management, and general repairs
• Work closely with the Management Team to prioritise and complete maintenance requests efficiently
• Conduct and document regular maintenance checks (weekly, monthly, annually) with timely follow-up
• Support emergency repairs, contractors, audits, and inspections
• Ensure the home is safe, clean, and well-maintained in line with Health, Safety, and Fire regulations
• Take ownership of tasks and log all completed work
• Build strong, respectful relationships with residents and team members
• Be flexible with scheduling, including evenings and weekends if required

• Hands-on experience with general maintenance and DIY skills across multiple areas (plumbing, carpentry, electrics, gardening, etc.)
• Competence in safely using hand and power tools and working in varied environments
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety
• Valid Manual Handling, Infection Control, and Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults certificates (training provided if needed)
• Full Irish Driver’s License
• Previous experience in a care home or healthcare setting is advantageous
