Job Description

In this key leadership role, you will oversee the entire maintenance function, ensuring the plant operates safely, efficiently, and cost‑effectively. You’ll be accountable for driving internal labour utilisation, reducing contractor dependency, improving reliability, and developing a high‑performing team.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead shutdown strategy, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and with zero safety incidents
  • Drive effective Root Cause Analysis to eliminate repeat failures and reduce reactive maintenance
  • Maximise internal labour utilisation (HoTT) through strong planning and resource optimisation
  • Improve weekly plan compliance and overall schedule adherence
  • Monitor and increase PM efficiency and OTR task completion
  • Maintain accurate SAP/CMMS data to support long‑term maintenance planning and forecasting
  • Lead cost‑reduction initiatives that protect safety and asset reliability
  • Strengthen stores accuracy, parts booking compliance, and critical spares management
  • Serve as a safety leader within Engineering, embedding proactive safety behaviours
  • Ensure thorough delivery and recording of toolbox talks, safety conversations, and statutory inspections
  • Champion continuous improvement and structured problem-solving initiatives
  • Maintain 5S 5‑star standards across workshops and storage areas
  • Enhance collaboration between Engineering and Production to improve throughput and quality
  • Promote a data‑driven culture and transparency in performance reporting
  • Lead HR processes including appraisals, performance reviews, absence management, and workforce planning

Requirements

  • A proven track record in Maintenance Operations leadership within high‑volume manufacturing environments
  • Deep expertise in maintenance execution, shutdown planning, workforce optimisation, and contractor control
  • Strong operational discipline with consistent delivery against key maintenance KPIs (OEE, PM compliance, schedule adherence)
  • High competence in CMMS systems, data accuracy, and performance reporting, with the ability to use RCA and structured methodologies to improve long‑term asset reliability
  • A visible and proactive presence on the shop floor, driving safety, standards, and 5S excellence
  • Ability to build a high‑performance maintenance culture aligned with production goals, supporting quality, throughput, and business continuity
  • Above all, a mindset of accountability, operational control, and execution excellence
