Job Description:

Brighton MET College is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Officer to join our Estates & Facilities team. This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, motivated individual to play a key role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-functioning environment for our students, staff, and visitors.

Job Responsibility:

  • Carry out a wide range of planned and reactive maintenance tasks across the college estate
  • General building maintenance
  • Basic repairs
  • Support the smooth day-to-day operation of the campus
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies
  • Make routine inspections and health and safety checks
  • Work closely with colleagues across the Estates team
  • Liaise with contractors where required

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a maintenance or facilities role
  • Good practical skills across a range of trades (e.g. basic plumbing, carpentry, decorating)
  • Proactive, flexible approach to work
  • Strong awareness of health and safety practices
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
