This is a position for a Maintenance Millwright on a Continental Night shift (18:30-6:30) at Baxter's manufacturing facility in Alliston. The role involves maintaining machinery, troubleshooting, fabrication, and preventative maintenance in a high-energy environment focused on creating quality medical products.
Job Responsibility:
Take breakdown calls as primary or backup status as assigned
Effectively complete planned work order requests and provide feedback on conditions and observations for improvements
Maintain machinery, troubleshoot, and repair with regard to minor electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and servo aspects
Fabricate, install, service, and modify prototype or specialized equipment and machine components from blueprints or sketches
Perform machining on diversified work to accurate tolerances
Complete maintenance shop tasks and fabrication as needed
Operate lathes, mills, drills, saws, surface grinders, and welding equipment, including passivating when required
Conduct preventative maintenance on machinery and building
Requirements:
Successful completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent experience
Must hold a valid provincial certification as an Industrial Millwright Mechanic Licence 433A
Proof of apprenticeship
Proven PLC knowledge
Demonstrated use of advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to determine the root cause of complex machine failures
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment
Flexibility to work overtime on short notice
Mandatory coverage for production overtime on Saturdays and during winter and summer plant shutdowns
Strong communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team or independently with minimal supervision
Demonstrated ability to coordinate and schedule effectively in support of production priorities
Basic proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Previous experience and ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and other technical system documents
Competence in Lathe Operation, Milling Machine Operation, Surface Grinding, Layout/Design (Machining), Fabrication, and Welding (stainless steel & TIG)
Forklift and Skyjack certification
