Reporting to the Facility Service Manager, the Forklift Service Technician is responsible for troubleshooting powered industrial equipment service calls issues and performing repairs and scheduled maintenance on equipment based upon customer demands as directed by the manager.
Job Responsibility:
Acts as a top-level specialist to deliver technical support for the Forklift Maintenance area under limited supervision
Diagnose faulty equipment and apply knowledge of functional operation of unit and systems to identify the extent and cause of malfunction
Establishes preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs for all systems and equipment
Perform scheduled maintenance efficiently and effectively
Ensures adherence to all regulatory and organizational safety guidelines
Conducts most complex daily work orders
Coaches more junior colleagues in techniques and processes
Maintain records of all service work and repairs performed
Regular (daily/weekly/monthly) equipment inspection and checks
Exhibit a professional demeanor, promoting goodwill between the company and client by providing a superior level of customer service
Unplanned electrical, mechanical maintenance and repairs
Control and adjustment of sensors and switches
Exchange and set up of mechanical & Electrical wear and tear parts for rolling stock
Requirements:
Ability to read, write and count accurately
Ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work a flexible schedule or overtime as required, to include shift rotation
Ability to work safely with and around 24 Volt, 110 Volts and 480 Volt electrical systems
Ability to work safely with and around operating mechanical systems
Read, comprehend, and interpret technical reference manuals and wiring diagrams
Ability to work within a team atmosphere
Ability to be trained in Lock-out Tag-out procedures as an “Authorized” user
Extensive powered industrial truck repair knowledge as well as CMMS knowledge
