The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for all repairs and maintenance of equipment and support structures. This position is deemed ‘safety sensitive’ due to the fact that a person improperly performing the essential or marginal functions of the job would constitute a threat to the health or safety of the employee, the employee’s co-workers, and/or the public at large.
Job Responsibility:
Repair and maintain, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment
Observe mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble
Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts
Examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections
Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements including rigging
Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments
Repairs or replaces defective parts
Install special functional and structural parts in devices
Start devices to test their performance
Lubricates and cleans parts
Responsible for adhering to all company safety and QA/QC programs and OSHA regulations
Requirements:
Minimum of two years of experience as a maintenance mechanic is required to include gas, diesel, pneumatics and hydraulic equipment
Certificate of welding ability is preferred
Must have all required hand tools
Must be able to lift, push and pull in excess of 100 pounds frequently
Able to climb to heights in excess of 300 feet
Able to lift your own weight while climbing ladders, steel bracing, stairs, etc.
Able to crawl in small or tight places
Job requires bending, stooping, and carrying
Exposed to temperature fluctuations, dust, and noise
Able to be around high voltage electromagnetic fields
The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required
