The Maintenance Mechanic -Plumber is responsible the maintenance of the water distribution system, maintenance and installation of domestic plumbing and heating systems and water softening equipment. This position is paid in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
Job Responsibility:
Carries out preventive maintenance inspections and tasks generated by the maintenance management system
Maintains and repairs domestic plumbing and hot water heating systems including fixtures, traps, electric hot water heaters, Drain Waste Vent (DWV) systems, airlines and compressors
Conducts daily water tests and ensuring correct water chemistry for boiler systems
Orders consumables and material for preventive, periodic and corrective maintenance
Assists with estimates for installation, repair and replacement of plumbing and heating systems
Installs new components in accordance with working drawings and OEM recommendations
Assists in the maintenance of domestic heating systems
Assists other trades as required
Inspects the work of related subcontractors. Corrects minor deficiencies in any trade or specialty within their ability.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Plumbing
Red Seal (Plumbing) Certification OR Ontario 306A
Gas Fitter (G2)
3+ years of plumbing experience in a commercial setting
Must have a valid G driver’s license
Must be have or be able to receive and maintain a Level II security clearance with the Government of Canada.
