The Maintenance Manager is a key site leader who brings energy, curiosity, and passion. In this role, you'll champion maintenance strategies that put safety first while driving reliability, performance, and continuous improvement across the Waxdale manufacturing site in Sturtevant, WI. You will guide maintenance systems, strengthen equipment uptime, develop talent, and ensure the site's assets and infrastructure are positioned to support world‑class operations. Your leadership helps create a culture where teams take pride in delivering safe, high‑quality products every day.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver safety, quality, cost, productivity, and environmental results
Lead and engage a large team of 150+ employees across all shifts
Implement SC Johnson's maintenance strategy through short- and long-term planning
Develop and use KPIs to drive maintenance performance and continuous improvement
Manage R&M spending and identify cost-saving opportunities
Oversee stockroom and MRO inventory to ensure accurate controls and reliable spare-parts availability
Lead facilities and building management to maintain safe, compliant site infrastructure
Improve asset reliability using Reliability Centered Maintenance tools and methodologies
Build capability within manufacturing performance systems, including tiered escalation
Strengthen inter-shift communication and develop internal talent
Partner with procurement and corporate teams to build strategic vendor relationships
Serve as the primary contact for Waxdale emergency issues
Ensure compliance with federal, local, and company policies and procedures
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Reliability, Supply Chain, or related field
7+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing maintenance and reliability
Experience with work management routines, technical storerooms, and project teams
Military experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Nice to have:
MBA or related graduate degree
CMRP certification
Experience in CPG, paint, or chemical manufacturing
Background in TPM, Lean, and continuous improvement environments
Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization
Proven ability to assess and develop talent in a maintenance setting
Experience simplifying complex technical topics for diverse audiences
Knowledge of machine guarding requirements
Basic PowerBI capability
SAP experience (maintenance modules, PM, budgeting, inventory analysis)
Experience in one or more trades (electrical, pipefitting, instrumentation)
Experience with project installation, estimating, layout, and directing work crews
Demonstrated success leading large teams
Ability to create and execute strategic plans
