Bemana is searching for a Maintenance Manager in Hagerstown, MD to join the team of a well-established leader in the pressure-treated lumber and building products industry, supplying residential, commercial, and industrial markets nationwide. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing mechanics and maintenance staff, ensuring strict adherence to safety procedures and the proper use of personal protective equipment. This role manages the day-to-day repair and upkeep of fixed assets within our treatment plants, diesel engines, trucks, trailers, and forklifts.
Job Responsibility:
Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety standards and ensure all team members follow established protocols (PPE, Lock out/tag out, electrical safety, etc). Lead by example!
Data Analysis & Reporting: Use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for tracking work orders and KPIs. Analyze downtime, maintenance costs, and reliability metrics. Report on performance to senior management.
Preventative Maintenance Records: Monitor and maintain accurate records of preventative maintenance activities to guarantee compliance with deadlines.
Equipment Maintenance: Supervise repairs and preventative maintenance for a wide range of equipment, ensuring tasks are completed on schedule.
Vendor & Contractor Management: Manage relationships with suppliers for parts and equipment locally
Inventory Management: Oversee parts inventory through weekly cycle counts, slow-moving parts audits, and monthly full physical inventories.
Technical Support: Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with pumps, valves, motors, mechanical systems, rollers and chains, bearings, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems used in manufacturing processes.
Continuous Improvement: Implement strategies to improve equipment reliability, Suggest upgrades or replacements for aging machinery.
Requirements:
Associate’s degree (A.A.) from two-year college or technical school certificate preferred
5 years maintenance experience
2 years maintenance supervisory experience and/or training
Equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to travel for training
