Job Responsibility:
Direct activities of Engineering Department to ensure achievement of quality and guest service standards
Perform preventive/regular maintenance and repairs to all areas of hotel
Maintain clean/organized maintenance area for security of hotel inventory and assets
Carry out regular walk round hotel and grounds for proactive problem handling
Participate in preparation of annual departmental operating budget and financial plans
Monitor budget/control expenses with focus on energy management, preventive maintenance and capital planning
Lead hotel renovations and other projects, negotiate contracts and ensure timely completion within budget
Have thorough knowledge of all plants and equipment and maintain in efficient working order
Be responsible for Planned Preventative Maintenance schedule
Carry out weekly fire alarm checks
Maintain/order parts and supplies in timely and efficient manner
May be responsible for hotel security
Have knowledge of and manage hotel security, emergency procedures, FLS and crisis management
Host monthly FLS and Crisis Management meetings
Liaise with contractors on site to ensure Permits to Work are completed in compliance
Act as Clerk of Works
Carry out work on ad hoc projects
Respond to call outs in line with rota and department standard practice
Perform other duties as assigned
May serve as manager on duty
Requirements:
Hands-on experience in managing all key functions required of a Maintenance Manager
Comprehensive understanding of functions such as finance, safety, health and hygiene
Ability to foster collaboration with all stakeholders
Experience to deal and negotiate with contractors, suppliers and other partners
Strong analytical skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong leader with empathy and ability to motivate and mentor others
Self-starter with excellent attention to detail
Ability to establish a process for activities that lead to implementation of agreed operations strategy
Comfortable with accountability and considered business decisions
