The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Maintenance Locksmith to join the team in Seattle, WA and will be supporting Boeing locations in the Northwest Area. We are looking for a candidate who will perform maintenance activities that include the installation, adjustment, and repairs for all types of locks and keys. You will keep a record of combinations, locks, and keys while working various types of lock and key systems throughout the Northwest Washington State Boeing sites.
Job Responsibility:
Install, maintain and repair various types of lock and key systems throughout the company
Maintain records of combinations, locks and keys for accountability
Obtain and process work through the lock and key SimpleK Software Program
Operate a computer to access job information (e.g., specifications to locks, manufactures diagrams, key codes), as required
Coordinate information with customers for necessary items (e.g., locks, keys) to perform repair and rework, as required
Operate a motor vehicle (e.g., scooter, van, or pickup) to reach offsite and in-plant locations, as required. Coordinate with security, facilities and customer for accountability
Use architectural drawings to determine installation or repair work of locking devices, as required
Operate power tools (e.g., key machine, drills and) to duplicate keys, install locks, as required. Use hand tools (e.g., lock picks, screwdrivers and wrenches) in the rework/rebuild process, as required
Use basic math in the calculation of locations for drill templates for locks and safes, as required
Originate keys by code or impression as required
Maintain inventory of supplies (e.g., locks, pins, key blanks)
Evaluate work area for safety requirements (e.g., confined space, eye, ear protection) prior to entry, as required. Handle and dispose of hazardous materials received in an approved manner
Maintain personal and equipment certifications, as required
Use of low impact vibratory tools, walking, sitting, and finger manipulation, frequent contact with metals, occasional exposure to noise and frequent use of face/eye protection
Requirements:
Active US Top Secret Clearance (or higher), or the ability to obtain a US Top Secret Clearance
1+ years of experience as a locksmith
1+ years of experience using hand tools and/or hand-held power tools
1+ years of experience in a customer service role
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
Ability to walk constantly throughout the workday
stand 6-8 hours per day
climb or work from stairs/steps up to 8 hours per day
climb ladders
bend and twist frequently up to six hours per day
squat and kneel
Nice to have:
Associate Locksmith of America Certificate
General Services Administration Certificate
3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
3+ years of experience with lock and key services
Willing to work variable shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime
Experience in Industrial Security, Facilities Security, Personnel Security, and/or in a cleared environment
