We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Lead Mechanic to oversee equipment upkeep and support reliable manufacturing operations in Allentown, Pennsylvania. This position combines hands-on mechanical expertise with day-to-day leadership, helping ensure machinery and facility systems operate safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate brings strong troubleshooting ability, a proactive maintenance mindset, and the confidence to guide technicians in a fast-paced production environment.
Job Responsibility
Direct daily maintenance priorities and assign work to support continuous, safe operation of production equipment and building systems
Diagnose malfunctions across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical machinery, then complete or guide effective repairs
Organize maintenance requests and schedule work in a way that reduces unplanned downtime and supports production goals
Lead preventive and predictive maintenance efforts to extend equipment life and improve operational reliability
Provide coaching and technical direction to maintenance technicians and mechanics, reinforcing best practices and safe work habits
Partner with production, engineering, and quality teams to address equipment performance issues and implement practical solutions
Support machinery installations, equipment upgrades, modifications, and larger improvement projects within the facility
Review repeat equipment failures, identify root causes, and introduce corrective measures that strengthen long-term performance
Maintain clear service records, repair histories, and spare parts documentation while ensuring inventory accuracy
Enforce safety standards, company procedures, and lockout/tagout requirements, and coordinate with outside vendors when specialized service is needed
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required
additional technical training, apprenticeship experience, or vocational education is preferred
At least 5 years of industrial maintenance experience within a manufacturing setting
Prior experience leading, mentoring, or supervising maintenance personnel is preferred
Demonstrated ability to repair and maintain conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, hydraulic systems, and other production machinery
Ability to read and interpret equipment drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
Familiarity with welding, fabrication, machining, or precision alignment methods
Experience using computerized maintenance management systems and strong troubleshooting, organizational, and independent work skills in a fast-paced environment
