Job Description

You will be keeping mechanical equipment running safely and reliably. You will start on daywork before moving into a 3 or 4 cycle shift pattern which includes shifts between 8 and 12 hrs. You will also have an opportunity to progress into a leading or management role over time.

Job Responsibility

  • Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance on production machinery to minimise downtime
  • Work to PPM schedules, liaising with planners to stay on track
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical breakdowns to keep production running
  • Complete risk assessments, method statements, and permit to work requirements
  • Support and train mechanical apprentices
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for maintenance tasks

Requirements

  • Completed recognised Mechanical Trades Apprenticeship, or equivalent
  • Demonstrable experience in manufacturing, ideally in construction materials manufacturing, engineering or heavy maintenance background
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and turning/milling
  • Trade Qualification is essential
  • Shift experience with continental/unsociable patterns
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with a reliable and committed approach to work
  • Additional courses (relevant to trade)
