We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our large and busy Operations team at our Chelsea Refinery to work a day shift from Monday to Friday. Working together with a diverse group of trade professionals, the key purpose of this role is to ensure that maintenance work is planned, scheduled and executed to industry best practice. Working collaboratively across the team, this role will provide input and feedback for developing and improving maintenance plans and instructions, assist in the management of contractors, support the quality and safety managers in audits and actively participate in the weekly operational shift, standby and call-out rosters.
Job Responsibility:
participating in all work activities in alignment with best practice OH&S standards
ensure all work is completed efficiently and cost effectively
ensure work orders are filled and lodged accurately and timely
effectively manage the workflow from execution through to close-out of work orders
assist in the sharing of information, development and training of new staff and contribute technical expertise to other team members
Requirements:
hold mechanical maintenance trade qualification (or equivalent)
have experience in mechanical maintenance (preferably in a manufacturing environment)
have experience working with multiple trades in a large team
possess strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across a diverse team
be able to manage areas of sole responsibility while being part of a wider team
enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adjust priorities accordingly to meet project demands
have excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to troubleshooting issues
have commitment to safety guidelines, regulations, and protocols, promoting and maintaining a culture of safety in the workplace
be eligible to work in New Zealand immediately
