Job Description:

Maintenance Technician I is a hands-on, skilled worker that has the abilities and advanced maintenance skills to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical and control systems safely. This position works directly with Engineers, Maintenance associates and other Maintenance Techs to identify opportunities, improve processes and increase equipment reliability. This position applies technical expertise to mentor and train maintenance associates and engineers while collaborating with production associates.

Job Responsibility:

  • Responsible for making improvements to reduce lost cycles, improve quality and reduce scrap in manufacturing
  • Make it easier for the operators to do their jobs
  • Implement modifications that increase maintainability and reduce downtime during repairs.
  • Troubleshoot equipment when there is not an obvious problem
  • Train maintenance associates on repairs and PMs when needed
  • Uses existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems
  • Receives instruction, guidance and direction from others.
  • Use continuous improvement principles with lean manufacturing tools such as 5s, kanban, and visual management.
  • Support implementation of corrective actions to solve production/quality issues.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • or three to five years related experience and/or training
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in a plant environment with Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulics and Pneumatics
  • Concentration specific knowledge/experience as required for assigned area
  • Three to five years related maintenance, engineering, or production experience
  • Communication and problem-solving skills required
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills

Direct experience in applicable industry is preferred
