Job Description:

Metropolis Resort is seeking a versatile full-time Maintenance Worker to join our team. In other words, we are looking for a “jack of all trades”. Someone who has knowledge across all trades. They are proficient in at least one of the trades and are willing to learn from others. As a part of our Maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing various maintenance tasks as a team across the resort's facilities, ensuring their proper functioning and appearance. This role requires working together to handle a wide range of maintenance duties in different areas, from mechanical and electrical systems to plumbing to landscaping and general repairs across all of our resort facilities. Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated problem-solver who can also work in a team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to keep the resort's facilities, equipment, and systems in optimal condition
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including HVAC, lighting, pumps, motors, and other related components
  • Handle general repairs, such as painting, carpentry, and drywall patching to maintain the resort's aesthetic appeal
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner, addressing and resolving issues efficiently
  • Maintain and organize maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring their availability and proper storage
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure smooth operations
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures when working with tools, equipment, and hazardous materials, ensuring a safe working environment for all
  • Document all maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance, to maintain accurate records and facilitate future reference
  • Assist in the implementation of facility improvement projects, providing technical expertise and support as needed

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • vocational training or certification in a relevant field is a plus
  • Proven experience in maintenance work, preferably in a multi-faceted environment
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair them effectively
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle unexpected situations efficiently
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team, demonstrating good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexibility to work on a varied schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, as required
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform manual labor as necessary
