We are currently seeking a Maintenance Coordinator to join our team in Lucca, Italy, supporting a long-term maintenance operations agreement at a state-of-the-art paper mill. A strong background in the pulp & paper industry is essential for this role, as the position operates at the core of papermaking processes and equipment. You will coordinate both daily and long-term maintenance activities, ensuring safety, reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness in a demanding pulp & paper production environment.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure full compliance with HSE policies, including risk assessments, Work Risk Assessments (RA), and Work Method Statements (WMS)
Plan, prioritize, and coordinate daily and weekly maintenance activities in close cooperation with supervisors and the Area Manager
Prepare weekly schedules, issue work orders, and assess manpower and skill requirements
Optimize internal and external resources, supporting cost control related to spare parts, services, manpower, and rework
Monitor KPIs and support performance tracking and continuous improvement
Lead and coordinate shutdown planning in a pulp & paper environment: prepare schedules, allocate resources, track execution, and ensure safety and quality compliance
Analyze shutdown performance and identify improvement opportunities
Ensure effective use of SAP CMMS, maintaining high-quality master data and supporting preventive maintenance and TPM activities
Manage and use technical documentation such as BOMs, drawings, SOPs, and maintenance procedures
Support spare parts purchasing, delivery follow-up, and usage analysis
Assist in warehouse and inventory management, including stock checks, MRP settings, and turnover analysis
Contribute to TPM implementation, long-term maintenance strategies, and continuous improvement projects
Participate in the on-call rotation when required
Requirements:
Technical degree or formal qualification in a relevant mechanical, electrical, or industrial field
Proven experience in maintenance planning and coordination within the pulp & paper industry (or very similar continuous-process industries)
Strong knowledge of papermaking processes and paper mill equipment is mandatory
Solid experience with CMMS / ERP systems (SAP required)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, BOMs, and maintenance documentation
High proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
Good command of English (spoken and written)
Italian is a strong advantage
