Job Responsibility:

  • Provide and oversee day-to-day maintenance operations across multiple YMCA sites, handling both reactive repairs and planned maintenance
  • Coordinate external contractors, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to a high standard
  • Support compliance with health & safety regulations and YMCA Norfolk’s internal policies
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and contribute to budget management
  • Advise site managers on maintenance as well as safety issues in the absence of the Health, Safety and Compliance Manager
  • Contribute to strategic planning by attending team meetings and supporting cross-organisational projects
  • Champion safeguarding and uphold YMCA’s values in every aspect of your work

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a maintenance or facilities role
  • Practical skills in joinery, building, plumbing or electrical work
  • A recognised apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in a relevant discipline (desirable)
  • Strong understanding of health & safety legislation and compliance
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work independently, manage your time, and adapt to changing priorities
  • A flexible, proactive mindset and a genuine commitment to YMCA’s mission

A recognised apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in a relevant discipline
