Job Responsibility:

  • Coordinates with other teams within the plant and is the primary point of contact for all maintenance-related issues for the shift
  • Relays priorities for maintenance to the rest of the crew and delegates tasks within the team to support plant operations
  • Attends Daily Direction Setting meetings to understand Operations’ needs
  • Interacts and confers with supervisors and management to coordinate shift activities, resolve machinery issues, and meet production goals

Requirements:

  • Understands and adheres to governmental regulatory programs and policies (NFPA, UBC, EPA)
  • Practices and complies with all plant and maintenance department safety procedures (Lock-Out - Tag-Out, Arc Flash and Hot Work Permits)
  • Understands the concept of Permit Required Confined Spaces
  • Follows all applicable good manufacturing practices (GMP's)
  • Maintains and uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Attends classes, seminars, and in-house training as needed
  • Effectively works and functions as a lead person in a team based environment with little or no direct supervision
  • Directs team members in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, plumbing, HVAC, and/or pneumatic maintenance and repair
  • Oversee and perform Preventative Maintenance (PM), Predictive Maintenance (PDM), corrective repairs, special projects/equipment rebuilds
  • Support diagnosing and resolution of breakdowns/malfunctions
  • Direct and assist with analyzing and resolving work problems (RCA, BDA, cause maps)
  • Training and development of new maintenance technicians and trainees
  • Execute and document planned and unplanned work findings via Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Prepare written reports detailing failure cause
  • Work closely with cross functional teams
  • Repairs and installation of parts, tools and equipment
  • Fabricates or modifies machines, tools, or equipment
  • Understands and interprets technical documents and diagrams (manuals, blueprints, schematics, P&ID's)
  • Produce an end-of-shift passdown report
  • Assist with executing maintenance and repair services of facility systems
  • May facilitate maintenance team training and attend production meetings
  • May be trained as back-up for planning and scheduling
  • May be required to educate team on autonomous maintenance (AM)
  • May be required to scope out new projects
  • Read, interpret common technical journals and carry out detailed instructions
  • Write and present information in one-on-one and small group situations
  • Communicate/interact with all levels of employees professionally
  • Perform simple arithmetic functions and use precision measuring equipment
  • Knowledge of Word Processing, Spreadsheet, and Internet software
