Aramark is recruiting a Maintenance Coordinator for a Long-Term Care Home in Cambridge, ON. The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for the safe, effective, and compliant operation of the physical plant and building systems This role ensures the home is maintained in a safe, functional, and comfortable condition for residents, staff, and visitors, while meeting all legislative, regulatory, and Ministry of Long-Term Care requirements. The Maintenance Coordinator provides hands-on maintenance support, coordinates preventative maintenance programs, oversees contractors, and plays a key role in life safety, emergency preparedness, and environmental safety.
Job Responsibility:
Coordinate and perform routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance for the building, grounds, and equipment
Maintain systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, generators, fire safety, and emergency power systems
Ensure resident rooms, common areas, and service areas are maintained in good repair
Conduct regular safety and environmental rounds
Maintain required maintenance logs, inspection records, and documentation
Support fire safety programs, emergency preparedness, and evacuation planning
Participate in inspections, audits, and accreditation processes
Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for all equipment and systems
Track maintenance requests and ensure timely resolution
Coordinate servicing, repairs, and inspections by external contractors
Monitor warranties, service contracts, and equipment lifecycle planning
Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and service providers
Monitor contractor performance to ensure work meets safety and quality standards
Requirements:
Certificate or diploma in building maintenance, facilities management, or a related trade preferred
3–5 years of maintenance experience, preferably in long-term care, healthcare, or a regulated environment
Knowledge of building systems, life safety requirements, and preventative maintenance programs
Experience working with contractors and service providers
Knowledge of Ontario Fire Code and MLTC requirements is an asset
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize and respond to urgent maintenance issues
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Basic computer skills for documentation, reporting, and work order systems
Primarily indoors with some outdoor responsibilities
On-call or after-hours availability may be required
Proof of vaccinations is required
