The Opportunity: We are seeking a talented, motivated and professional individual with experience in a Part 145 Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services team. You will be joining the world class EC135 Helicopter Aircrew Training System (HATS) located at HMAS Albatross, Nowra, New South Wales. For this position, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating technical tasks within the HATS ALSE department and providing leadership, strategic planning and technical guidance to a high performing team. This role will provide the successful applicant with an exciting leadership opportunity in a unique, fast paced environment. You will work closely with the Maintenance Services Manager (MSM) and Responsible Manager (RM) to define and deliver a plan to achieve the technical tasks and goals whilst remaining compliant to the applicable governing regulations/procedures, as well as acting as a mentor to supporting the team.
Job Responsibility:
Coordinate and monitor ALSE technicians to ensure Flying program requirements are met. This includes tasking of both ALSE teams (day/afternoon shift) and conducting error capture inspections on completed work
Coordinate ongoing servicing and maintenance requirements for ALSE equipment
Ensure Environment Health and Safety (EHS) compliance and that EHS related inspections/checks are carried out periodically as per local instructions
Ensure that Quality compliance aligns with local requirements and procedures. Any reported non-compliances are addressed within the required reporting mechanism
Serve as the primary Point of Contact (POC) for Operations/Aircrew interface with the team. This includes organising and scheduling gear fittings, training sessions, and equipment repairs as required
Be the Primary POC for the Supply Support Department for the allocated store holdings within the ALSE workshops
Assist the Engineering team by providing a Subject Matter Expert (SME) reference to technical queries or technical improvements raised through the ALSE department
Identify any process change requests and serve as the end user SME POC. Liaise with management to develop and implement any relevant changes to achieve evolving project requirements
Review Technical Information issued by Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), Regulators, and the Military Air Operator (MAO) to identify changes required. Liaise with the HATS Continued Airworthy Management (CAM) Services Organisation and RM to implement the changes required
Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, reliability, and efficiency
Monitor and evaluate staff progress
and assist with training, performance management and recruitment
Liaise with key stakeholders OPS/Aircrew to book in equipment needs
Collaborate for Success: Work closely with Maintenance Services Manager (MSM) and key stake holders to integrate efforts and deliver outstanding outcomes
Lead with Excellence: Provide leadership to the ALSE Team, driving exceptional performance and results
Oversee Operations: Oversee the day-to-day of ALSE operations, including short-term detachment support
Develop Maintenance Schedules: Ensuring maintenance staggers meet short, medium and long-term flying program needs
Uphold Standards: Ensure adherence to Boeing policies and procedures, maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
Foster Team Development: Use your exceptional soft skills to lead a team, promoting safety, harmony, and professional growth
Drive Ethical Practices: Ensure that team objectives are met while upholding our ethical values and compliance with legislative, DASR, ISO, and Boeing standards
Requirements:
Hold a Certificate Cert III / IV in Aircraft Life Support and Furnishings
or Cert IV Aeroskills with ALSE exposure/experience (ie, previous ALSE task auths or workshop exposure)
Detailed knowledge of digital and paper-based Aircraft Maintenance Management Systems
A minimum of five years military or commercial exposure to aviation skills streams
Excellent oral and written communication skills, and people management skills
Experience in leading teams, preferably in an aviation maintenance environment
Ability to balance customer and business priorities to meet required outcomes in a high paced environment
A strong knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office products
You will be required to successfully undergo the vetting process for a Government security clearance (Baseline) sponsored by BDA
