Progress Housing Group and our dedicated team of 900 colleagues has been more than a housing provider; we've been a catalyst for positive change. We're proud of the countless lives we've impacted-providing safe homes, supporting independence and standing by our communities through every season of life. We're now looking for a Maintenance Caretaker to join our Progress Living team, primarily based in Boston, with occasional support across our sites in Lincoln and Grantham. Progress Living works in partnership with United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, managing accommodation across three hospital sites. This includes extensive refurbishment, new builds and long-term management-so the standards we maintain directly impact the people who rely on them. This is a practical, hands-on maintenance and caretaking role where you'll help ensure our accommodation remains safe, compliant, well-presented and fully operational. You'll carry out routine inspections, respond to repairs, coordinate with contractors and support the smooth day-to-day running of our sites.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver a proactive ground and building maintenance service across Progress Living accommodations
Complete cyclical property inspections and health & safety checks, recording actions and escalating issues appropriately
Carry out general repairs and maintenance, including joinery repairs and fixes, basic plumbing maintenance, basic electrical repairs/maintenance tasks (within scope/competence), internal painting and decorating (responsive and planned)
Work collaboratively to ensure repairs are completed quickly-either in-house or via approved contractors
Monitor and check contractor works, ensuring NHS service level agreements are met
Conduct proactive site inspections and respond to incidents/issues in line with policies and procedures
Complete weekly fire alarm testing and emergency lighting tests, maintaining accurate compliance records and taking action on faults
Respond to occupant enquiries professionally and in line with agreed procedures
Support accommodation staff with occupant inductions, including: building access, heating controls, key site areas, fire evacuation procedures and smoking restrictions
Carry out general clerical and administrative duties linked to maintenance and compliance activity
Contribute to team targets, performance indicators, and the Group's Vision and Values
Requirements:
Full UK driving licence (required due to travel across sites)
Proven experience in a property maintenance, facilities, caretaking or handyman role
Ability to work independently, organise your day and manage priorities
Strong awareness of health & safety and compliance in occupied buildings
A customer-focused approach when dealing with occupants and colleagues

Experience coordinating or supervising external contractors
Willingness to complete further training (and openness to learning new systems/processes)
