Associa is looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join the team. The maintenance assistant is a part time position, Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 3:00pm. You may occasionally be asked to continue working after 3:00pm or a Saturday if there are critical tasks that must be finished. You will be required to work outside in cold, rainy or snowy conditions. You will also be required to work in hot weather with reasonable accommodations. You will be working with the maintenance manager as well as on your own. You will perform general facility maintenance, minor repairs and cleaning.
Job Responsibility:
Clean all common areas in flats and cabana
Assist the maintenance manager with garbage pickup and dumping
General upkeep of the community grounds, including picking up waste from animals, trash and storm debris, and assisting with the removal of small trees and bushes
Change light bulbs, door locks/latches and adjust door mechanisms for proper function
Painting
General pool maintenance, including vacuuming, removing rocks or debris and balancing chemicals to keep the pool safe for swimmers
Assist the maintenance manager with cleaning roofs, gutters, vents and drains
Assist the maintenance manager with repairing roofs, gutters, vents and drains
Assemble equipment
Replace batteries in smoke alarms and electronic door locks
Requirements:
The ability to stand, crouch, bend, kneel and crawl without assistance
The ability to stand/walk for extended periods
The ability to lift 50-100 lbs with reasonable accommodation
The ability to work in confined spaces such as crawl spaces and attics
The ability to climb ladders and walk on roofs with reasonable safety accommodations
The ability to perform tasks that may require reaching or holding your hands above your head
The ability to balance and safely work on uneven or slippery surfaces
The ability to work outdoors in the heat, cold, rain or snow
The ability to work in areas that are noisy, dirty or smelly with reasonable safety accommodations
The ability to wear safety equipment such as a dust mask, respirator, climbing harness, safety goggles/glasses, hearing protection
The ability to safely use hand tools and operate power tools
What we offer:
Vacation accrual begins after 90 days at 6.67 hrs per month with a cap at 160 hours, depending on years of service
Employees who are active and full-time are eligible to accrue 3.34 hours per month up to a maximum of 40.00 hours (5 days) per calendar year
