Job Description:

We are seeking a proactive and reliable Maintenance Assistant to support the smooth operation and upkeep of the hotel. This is a hands-on role where you will help ensure the hotel remains safe, functional, and welcoming for both guests and team members while maintaining the highest operational standards.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist with the maintenance operations of the hotel to ensure the safety and comfort of guests and team members
  • Follow hotel standards to ensure company quality standards are consistently maintained while meeting business needs
  • Support the upkeep and presentation of the hotel through a proactive and hands-on approach

Requirements:

  • Previous maintenance or general repair experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of painting, decorating, and general maintenance tasks
  • A proactive and practical approach with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible, reliable, and organised with a positive 'can-do' attitude

Nice to have:

Experience within a hotel or hospitality environment is advantageous but not essential

  • Follow all assigned fueling instructions
  • Fabricate new tools and equipment as needed
  • Follow preventative maintenance schedules for all hatchery equipment such as hydroelectric turbine generators, diesel generators, front-end loaders, pickup trucks, gas pumps, outboard motors, welders, cement mixers, steam cleaners, pressure washers, snow removal equipment, and power tools
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and necessary repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure operational efficiency
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine solutions by referencing blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs
  • Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
  • Complete architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical system preventative maintenance as assigned
  • Perform general cleaning, painting, and repairs to roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, and other building components
