Job Description

Solaris HealthCare Daytona is now hiring. We are looking for caring and compassionate individuals to provide outstanding care to our residents each and every day. The primary purpose of your job position is to assist the Plant Operations Director with the maintenance and repair program involving buildings and grounds. Also assists in coordinating maintenance and repair activities with functions of other departments, in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and Solaris HealthCare’s established policies and procedures.

Job Responsibility

  • Maintaining cleanliness
  • Supporting resident move-ins/move-outs
  • Light repairs
  • Completing emergency work orders
  • Maintaining the physical plant, equipment and grounds
  • Assisting Plant Operations Director with maintenance and repair program
  • Coordinating maintenance and repair activities with other departments

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be able to read, speak and understand the English language
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions
  • Must demonstrate knowledge and skills for age-related needs of residents
  • Must be a supportive team member
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, etc.
  • Must have leadership ability
  • Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition
  • Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset people
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of the TELS Maintenance Program a plus
  • Experience in the healthcare industry a plus
  • Nursing home experience preferred
  • Basic plumbing and electrical experience preferred

  • Ensuring flower beds and planted areas are well presented and maintained, including weeding and planting new flowers
  • Changing gas bottles safely and efficiently
  • Ensuring bin bays are always kept clean and tidy
  • Responding to guest enquiries in a friendly and proactive manner, collaborating with the wider park teams to resolve any issues promptly
  • Performing pitch tidies and assisting with the moving and siting of holiday homes
  • Working independently and with integrity, completing assigned maintenance tasks to the highest standard while seeking support from your manager or wider team when needed
