Job Description

We are looking for a Maintenance Assistant to assist the Maintenance Manager in the safe, efficient running of our Nursing Home by as undertaking general and routine maintenance of the buildings, fixtures, fittings and grounds. Our residents’ well-being relies on them having a safe and stimulating space in which they can live and recuperate. Your work would include assisting the Maintenance Manager in maintaining the Home to help make a genuine difference to their lives and happiness.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist with the general maintenance of the buildings, fixtures and grounds
  • Champion excellent maintenance of both the external and internal spaces
  • Ensure all Statutory and Non-Statutory Tasks assigned are completed
  • Record and update all tasks using the electronic maintenance logging system
  • Ensure all minor maintenance jobs are undertaken in a safe, compliant and timely manner
  • Support residents to move into their new home
  • Support the Maintenance Manager to ensure compliance in relevant areas of health and safety
  • Maintain the safety of the external hard landscaping
  • Assist with the removal of all waste
  • Keep all tools and equipment in good working order
  • Assist with the movement of furniture and equipment
  • Assist housekeeping teams with the carpet care programme
  • Ensure the security of all residents and the premises
  • Work collaboratively with the Maintenance Manager to ensure the grounds and decoration are kept to the required standard
  • Any reasonable ad-hoc tasks

Requirements

  • Decorating Skills (not essential but would be an advantage)
  • Plumbing skills including tap replacements and TMV servicing (not essential but would be an advantage)
  • Good understanding of how to work an iPad and use outlook for emails
  • Legionella knowledge (not essential but would be an advantage)
  • Adaptable approach to work and can work unsupervised
  • Courteous and friendly disposition
  • Clean driving licence

  • Decorating Skills
  • Plumbing skills including tap replacements and TMV servicing
  • Legionella knowledge
