Reddam House Waterfall, part of the global Inspired Education Group, is seeking a reliable and proactive Maintenance Assistant to support the upkeep, safety, and smooth daily operations of the school site. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining high standards across school buildings and grounds, carrying out routine maintenance tasks, assisting with events, and responding to urgent needs to ensure a safe and well-presented learning environment.
Job Responsibility:
Carry out routine maintenance tasks, including minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry and painting work
Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance or safety issues
Assist with the setup and breakdown of school events, functions, and assemblies
Support emergency or urgent maintenance requests as needed
Maintain cleanliness and functionality of the school grounds and buildings
Report items requiring repair, replacement, or ordering to management
Work weekends or after hours when required
Follow instructions provided by supervisors, written notices, schedules, or requests
Uphold confidentiality, the school’s values, and professional conduct expectations
Requirements:
Previous experience in maintenance or facilities support
Basic knowledge of Health & Safety regulations relevant to maintenance operations
Ability to perform manual tasks and safely operate basic tools and equipment
Strong initiative, reliability, and accountability in independent and team settings
Good communication skills and proficiency in reading and understanding written instructions
Physical fitness to lift, move, and operate equipment safely
Ability to manage time effectively and respond promptly and respectfully to tasks
Awareness of standards expected in a high-performing school environment
Punctual, trustworthy, and able to work with minimal supervision
