Job Description:

The Maintenance and Repair Technician II positions offer the opportunity to apply general maintenance, repair, and renovation skills in a welcoming environment offering full-time, regularly scheduled work and a generous benefit package. If you take pride in your work, are conscientious, and have a commitment to quality and customer service, you may be a fit in our Housing and Dining Services team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Complete renovation projects including installing flooring and cabinets, demolition/construction of spaces
  • Diagnose, service and maintain plumbing and electrical systems and equipment
  • Test and maintain fire alarm and emergency lighting systems
  • Independently troubleshoot, maintain, and repair specialized equipment and building systems
  • Service and maintain building systems
  • Repair and service building hardware and custodial equipment
  • Make minor furniture repairs and adjustments
  • Coordinate with other departmental staff in the maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment
  • Provide an exemplary level of customer service

Requirements:

  • One year of relevant experience
  • Various training and/or certification may be required
  • Valid driver's license upon employment
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship

Nice to have:

  • High School graduation/GED
  • Journeyman level experience in one or more skilled/mechanical trades
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • Knowledge of tools, equipment and materials used in a variety of trades
  • Knowledge of codes, hazards and safety precautions
  • Ability to interact effectively with others

  • Prepares positive airway pressure (PAP) mask fittings

  • Educates physicians and patients on sleep medicine
  • Follows sleep procedures to establish and document baseline values such as body position, movements, oxyhemoglobin saturation, respiratory and heart rates
  • Scores sleep/wake stages and with the generation of accurate reports by tabulating sleep/wake and clinical event data such as respiratory events, cardiac events, limb movements, arousals, etc.
  • Implements appropriate interventions including actions necessary for patient safety and therapeutic intervention such as continuous (CPAP) and bi-level (BIPAP) positive airway pressure and oxygen administration
  • Performs procedures and therapeutic interventions such as auto servo ventilation (SV) titrations, average volume assured pressure support (AVAPS), multiple sleep latency testing (MSLT), maintenance of wakefulness testing (MWT)
  • Performs set up and scoring of home sleep tests
  • Performs polysomnographic data acquisition while monitoring study-tracing quality to recognize and eliminate all artifacts observed during the test
