Mainframe Storage Administrator

• Configuration, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise mainframe storage systems
• Ensure high availability, performance, and data integrity across all storage platforms
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement scalable storage solutions and troubleshoot complex issues
• Storage infrastructure management
• Monitor and manage storage capacity, performance, and utilization
• Implement and maintain backup and recovery procedures to ensure data protection
• Analyze storage performance metrics and resolve bottlenecks
• Tune storage configurations for optimal throughput and reliability
• Planning and execution of storage upgrades and migrations
• Perform firmware updates, patching, and hardware lifecycle management
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., data retention, privacy)

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in mainframe storage administration
• Proficiency in z/OS, DFSMS, and related IBM storage technologies
• Experience administering DASD, tape libraries, and virtual tape systems in a z/OS environment
• Familiarity with SAN/NAS environments and enterprise backup tools (e.g., IBM Spectrum Protect)
• Experience planning and performing upgrades, migrations, etc
• Experience with performance tuning and capacity planning
