We are seeking a talented and motivated Mainframe Developer with 2.5 to 4 years of professional experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining critical applications on our mainframe systems. This role requires a strong understanding of mainframe technologies, programming languages, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, efficient solutions.
Job Responsibility
Design, code, and implement new applications or enhancements to existing mainframe systems using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS
Perform routine maintenance, debugging, and troubleshooting of mainframe applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability
Optimize mainframe applications for performance, efficiency, and scalability
Develop and execute unit, integration, and system tests to validate application functionality and data integrity
Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, program flows, and operational procedures
Work closely with business analysts, project managers, and other developers to understand requirements, define solutions, and resolve technical issues
Diagnose and resolve production incidents and problems in a timely manner
Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and system architecture
Requirements
3+ Years of total experience
Strong proficiency in COBOL
In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Job Control Language (JCL)
In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with DB2 (Database 2)
In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with CICS (Customer Information Control System)
In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with VSAM (Virtual Storage Access Method)
In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with TSO/ISPF (Time Sharing Option/Interactive System Productivity Facility)
Experience with mainframe utilities, debugging tools, and version control systems (e.g., Endevor, Changeman)
Familiarity with z/OS
Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
