Job Description:

Lead and review, analyze, design, and develop applications. Plan and oversee Sprints, supporting AGILE development. Lead and work effectively with remote teams, focusing on fostering positive working relationships. Hands-on and/or Lead responsibility for application development deliverables across the entire project lifecycle (Waterfall and Agile Methodology). Hands-on responsibility for development deliverables including projects, small enhancements, and incident/problem investigation. Hands-on and/or ownership responsibility for application environment management and related application compliance. Provide oversight supervision and ensure adherence to development standards, policies, and procedures. Gather and document technical requirements, code specifications, test plans and results, and other project deliverables. Lead design discussions with business stakeholders, technology stakeholders, and architects. Provide expertise in technical analysis and resolve complex issues through in-depth evaluation of business and system processes. Ensure alignment to architectural assertions and constantly look for opportunities to modernize applications. Integrate with a team of highly seasoned application developers. Establish procedures, create Standard Operating Procedures, and direct/monitor teams for adherence to established standards. Ability to balance multiple demands and work both independently and as part of a team. Professional maturity in dealing with all levels of management and staff. Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment. Communicate continually with clients and project teams, clarifying needs, presenting ideas, and explaining progress. Manage application development deliverables for the entire project lifecycle (Waterfall and Agile models). Perform analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of applications.

Requirements:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or demonstrated senior-level programming experience
  • Demonstrable analytical and quantitative skills
  • Knowledge and experience in Content Management Tools (Exstream or Messagepoint, ADA tagging)
  • Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, z/OS, COBOL, JCL, CICS, MVS, VSAM, DB2, Connect:Direct (NDM), SQL Server, MQ
  • Familiarity with Linux/AIX, Shell Scripting
  • Experience on DevOps Tools - Bitbucket, Jenkins
  • Minimum 12+ years of hands-on experience in Mainframe technologies and Content Management Tools (Exstream or Messagepoint, ADA tagging)
  • Demonstrable experience having led and directed teams
  • Experience with full project life cycle from establishing requirements through delivery and production
  • Well versed with 3-tier architecture/component layer architecture
  • 7+ years of Mainframe, COBOL, JCL, DB2, and other standard mainframe tools
  • 5+ years of MessagePoint and Exstream content and composition software
  • 3+ years in SDLC experience in Jira, RDZ, Bitbucket

Nice to have:

  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams (Testing Team, Requirements Team etc.) on business-critical, complex enterprise system projects
  • Experience in working on cross-platform or legacy modernization projects
  • Knowledge of and experience with automating development processes and testing
