Job Description:

KeyBank is looking for an experienced Mainframe DB2 Administrator to manage and support enterprise DB2 environments on z/OS. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in DB2 administration, performance tuning, database maintenance, and ensuring high availability for mission-critical banking applications.

Job Responsibility:

  • Administer and support IBM DB2 for z/OS databases
  • Perform DB2 installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance
  • Handle database performance monitoring and tuning
  • Manage DB2 utilities: REORG, RUNSTATS, COPY, RECOVER, LOAD, UNLOAD
  • Backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning/support
  • Handle DB2 security, access control, and audit compliance
  • Support production incidents and root cause analysis
  • Work with application teams for schema changes and release support
  • Implement database best practices and documentation standards
  • Ensure system stability and SLA compliance

Requirements:

  • Strong experience as a DB2 Admin on Mainframe (z/OS)
  • Hands-on with DB2 utilities (REORG, RUNSTATS, COPY, RECOVER)
  • Experience in DB2 performance tuning and monitoring
  • Knowledge of JCL, TSO/ISPF
  • Understanding of database backup/recovery strategies
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills

Nice to have:

  • Banking/Financial domain experience
  • Knowledge of CICS / IMS / COBOL (plus)
  • Experience with automation/scheduling tools (CA7, Control-M)
  • Exposure to DB2 data sharing and sysplex environments
