Job Description:

The Office of Business Services is seeking to hire a position to serve as Mailroom Machine Operator to operate Multiline Optical Character Reader (MLOCR) barcoding/sorting system/equipment machines and operates inserting machines/equipment while receiving training in the operation of more complex computerized mailing systems.

Job Responsibility:

  • Operate Multiline Optical Character Reader (MLOCR) barcoding/sorting system/equipment machines
  • Operate inserting machines/equipment
  • Receive training in the operation of more complex computerized mailing systems
  • Operate inserting system and equipment machines
  • Receive training in the operation of Video Jet and address labeling systems
  • Maintain personal work area and ensure common areas are picked up, cleaned, and organized daily
  • Operate and process computer generated listings
  • Verify compliance to Agency, State and Federal Regulations

Requirements:

Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school

Nice to have:

  • One year experience operating mail barcoding/sorting and inserting equipment
  • One year experience operating high-speed mail equipment
  • One year experience with mechanical mail equipment operation principles
  • One year experience following oral and written instructions
  • One year experience processing computer generated documents ensuring compliance to Agency, State and Federal regulations
  • Bilingual skills
