Job Description

We are looking for a dependable Mailroom Clerk / Router to support daily mail and package operations for a contract position based in Lombard, Illinois. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organized, hands-on work and can keep materials moving accurately and on schedule. The position focuses on sorting, routing, processing, and tracking incoming and outgoing correspondence while providing responsive service to internal stakeholders.

Job Responsibility

  • Sort incoming mail, packages, and courier deliveries, then route each item to the appropriate department or recipient in a timely manner
  • Prepare outbound correspondence and shipments, including overnight and certified mail, ensuring labels, documentation, and packaging are completed accurately
  • Enter shipment and delivery details into company systems and maintain clear, up-to-date records for tracking and reporting purposes
  • Coordinate with courier providers and internal teams to support pickups, deliveries, and special distribution requests
  • Use Microsoft Office and internal mailing tools to process service requests, generate mailing information, and organize daily workload
  • Verify package contents, addresses, and service levels before dispatch to reduce delays and delivery errors
  • Assist with reporting package activity, mail volume, and routing status to support operational visibility
  • Provide attentive customer service when responding to questions about mail status, delivery timing, and package handling

Requirements

  • Experience supporting mailroom, shipping, receiving, routing, or closely related operational tasks
